Messages come to us in different ways. They can come in a dream or during meditation. You might hear
something on the radio or TV. See something on a billboard or someone might say something to trigger the
message. Sometimes they will come through the animals.
Animals have powerful spirits. They each have their own talents and can help us. They offer us their assistance
and guidance with many tasks. They are seen by shamans as the outward form of the Great Spirit.
Domesticated animals are believed to have lost their power but support us in physical ways. Even in a highly
technological culture, the power of the animals still expresses itself. We are just too busy to notice.
Unlike human beings, animals live naturally doing what they are created to do without self-doubt, uncertainty
and guilt. Animals never lose their sense of themselves as spirit, responding with the fullness of spirit to
whatever life presents to them.

I will be featuring a different animal each month. The animals
featured in previous months will be moved to a different page. My
goal is to help you understand the messages that are coming to you
by providing a starting point in deciphering your message. The
messages usually continue to come until you understand them and act
on them. I decided to start this new page with a message that a
friend of mine received.
A couple weeks ago my friend, Andy, told me about an experience he'd had. While sitting outside with a client,
a hummingbird came out of no-where and stopped right in front of his face. Andy was almost nose to beak with
this tiny messenger. The hummingbird quickly moved to the right side of his head and hovered there for a
minute. Andy found himself unable to react to the hummingbird because he was trying to look professional. He
asked me what I thought the hummingbird was trying to tell him.
I asked, "What does the hummingbird mean to you? What does the hummingbird make you think of? How does
the hummingbird make you feel?" When the messages come to us, they come in our individual language. We
each see things differently because our perceptions and definitions are based on our individual experiences. A
group of people can look at the same vase and each one will see something different.
When trying to decipher the messages that come to us, it is important to start by asking yourself those same
three questions. The message will continue to come until you figure it out and act on it. The hummingbird has
continued to "haunt" Andy. He thought he could just ignore it and it would go away. Thankfully he has actually
started trying to figure out what that little messenger has been trying to say to him.
